It's finally summer and that means it's time for refreshing summer drinks! What do you like to sip on in the heat? This summer, break away from the typical margaritas and mimosas and try a Paloma.
A Paloma is a tequila cocktail with grapefruit juice and a hint of lime, topped with club soda. Palomas are a great thing to sip on while poolside or on the porch, so they're perfect for hot weather! Making Palomas are just as easy as making a margarita. All you need is some fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, a lime, good tequila and club soda. Jewel Osco, Mariano's, or Whole Foods all will have fresh squeezed juices available if you don't want to do it yourself. Fresh is important!
This cocktail is best shaken, but can be also enjoyed built in a rocks glass. Whether you are building in a glass or shaker, start with your ice. Pour two ounces of grapefruit juice, two ounces tequila, and squeeze half of a lime. Then either shake in your cocktail shaker or stir very well in your glass. Top the whole drink with club soda (or Sprite, if you like a little extra sweetness). It's important not to shake or stir the cocktail with club soda, otherwise it could go flat. Now it's time to enjoy this classic, refreshing drink!
